Starfish sites are web awards finalists!

The WA-based finalists in the Australian Web Awards were announced this week, and Clever Starfish is excited to report that two of our sites have made the grade.

Sophie Kyron Jewellery is in the final three in two categories – Retail and Sell to Corporate. Sophie’s gorgeous jewellery, worn by celebrities like Cate Blanchett and Kate Ceberano, is presented for both retail and wholesale sale using Clever Starfish’s own shopping cart system, coupled with WordPress for content management and easy news posting.

The WA Youth Music Association (WAYMA) site is shortlisted in the Arts and Events category. The site’s gorgeous and striking design was created by Starfish Levi to try and appeal more to the site’s target audience of young musicians. The site content, news and calendar of events is managed completely by the WAYMA team using the FarCry content management system.

The winners will be announced at a black tie dinner on the 6th of November. We can’t wait!

New web site for Sandfire Resources

Although we have both Levi and Kristy as designers on our team, we often work with other design and advertising agencies, implementing their designs and helping with the mechanics of web development and marketing.

Such was the case with Sandfire Resources – Steve Binnie and the team at First Nature Design came up with a gorgeous design for their new site, and we implemented it and put it into the FarCry content management system so that Sandfire staff could easily keep it up to date.

There’s more refinements still to come, but we think the new, clean design looks great.

BuroShop’s new brand launches

Buro management consultants specialise in great ideas – and sometimes they come up with great ones for themselves! The BuroShop’s showcase of beautiful bags and fashion accessories has been growing so fast that Buro founder Fiona Kalaf decided it was time to launch it into a whole new brand: HoneyHoney.

A new identity for HoneyHoney was created by The Globe, and the gorgeous logo they came up with is even getting international attention, featuring in the book Logo Lounge 5: 2000 international identities by leading designers. Congratulations guys!

We created the web site and online store, designed to deliver the same great shopping experience as the BuroShop, but with extra room for more gorgeous things – like exclusive pinchandspoon textile necklaces and Mi handbags from Buenos Aires.
