St George triumphant

The St George Cathedral in Perth’s CBD launched a sculpture project back in August of last year with a Clever Starfish-designed web site. The project invited artists from around the world to submit concepts for a sculpture representing the story of St George and the dragon, to be placed in front of the cathedral on St George’s Terrace.

Well, entries have now closed and public voting has opened. The project attracted an amazing 94 entries from a range of countries – there’s some terrific ideas in there. The selection panel will be taking the comments of the public into consideration as well as the tallies, so make sure you explain your reasoning when you submit your vote.

Towards the end of February, the panel will announce 6-12 finalists, who will be invited to create a maquette for an exhibition at the Cathedral.
