We’re pretty into food here in Starfishland, so when The Black Truffle contacted us about doing a new website for their gourmet delicatessen in North Fremantle, we were keen as honey basil mustard. The store has become a regular destination for locals and passers-by, with fresh coffee, lunchables, Italian pantry staples, salads, antipasto, cured meats, cheeses, and take-home meals prepared by real Italian mamas. The rustic food aesthetic was carried through to the website design, with warm tones, wood and hessian textures, contrasted with the simple black and white of their logo.

The site uses a ‘one page’ layout, which requires some tricky development techniques in order to be optimised for search engines as well as be easily editable in the WordPress content management system. While appearing as one long page in the browser, each section is actually a separate page in the eyes of search engines.

The catering section includes an inquiry form that gets submitted seamlessly without reloading the page.
